[It's a day she always knew was coming. Or rather, a day she was always afraid was coming.
She woke up and Michonne's things were gone. As much as she wants to isolate herself, there's at least one person who needs to know, so she pulls herself together - she can fall apart later, and she will, but - and grabs her phone.]
( Clementine hears her phone go off, and she appreciates the way Regina doesn't waste time with any other words but the most important ones. She gets right to the point even when that point is painful.
She stares and then stares some more. It seems impossible. Michonne has been here longer than Clementine. She was one of Clementine's first friends here who quickly became family. She's... gone?
After a moment, her expression crumples, knowing Regina would only send her this if she was certain. )
[She doesn't respond immediately, not that she doesn't read it immediately. It's almost as if she's afraid Clementine's reaction will cement it as real, that she doesn't have enough proof already.
But she can't leave her waiting forever.]
The only thing left behind was her katana. Maybe because I enchanted it, I don't know.
[A short pause, before another message comes through.]
( Clementine's eyes burn more helplessly at the revelation of all that remains in the wake of her disappearance. It's the one thing that Clementine would most closely associate with Michonne.
She had it with her everywhere she went.
She swallows thickly, straightening her shoulders, staring at the words for longer than she should in the silence. )
